The screens are dismantled, the tiny toggles for the wireless mice tucked safely away and the keyboards haphazardly stacked into an open box. We’ve got another empty crate, left for all the stuff that Jean has hoarded in her desk drawers but for the most part, the team is ready to head back into the office. Bob was melancholy today about his garden, going on about how he should have taken more time this year. Cheryl was kind enough to remind him how much it’s rained. That didn’t seem to help. Still, Cheryl’s never ending lists have got us to a pretty organised place. And we’re all gritting our teeth through her continued insistence that we go over each one, just one more time, to make sure we have everything. Jean has made everyone tea this morning. Bob did offer but even after a year and a half, he’s not got any better. Jean decided we all need a splash of Baileys since it’s moving day and all. We felt honoured to be let in on her secret. And so, we’re pretty much ready to go.
Will be odd to not have these three rattling around the house. It will be nice, I suppose, for our home to feel more like a home again. And also, we’ll miss all their antics. But, it’s time for them to venture out, get Bob out of the basement, get Cheryl closer to more people to boss around and get Jean closer to some cocktail bars for after work shenanigans.
We expect them to get along just fine without us and will try our best to do the same.
